Toast ("Toast," "we," "us") is a birthday reminder and gifting app that helps you remember the birthdays of the people you care about and send them a gift when it matters. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. By using Toast, you agree to the practices described here.
If you choose to add a birthday from your device's contacts, Toast requests access to your Contacts. We only read the contact details you select in order to create a birthday entry. We do not upload your entire address book, and we do not use your contacts for advertising or share them with third parties for their own marketing. You can decline this permission and add birthdays manually, or change it anytime in your device Settings.
To send birthday reminders, Toast registers for push notifications through Apple Push Notification service and stores a device push token. You can turn reminders on or off in the app or in your device Settings.
When you use the Gift Ideas feature, the relevant details of the selected person (such as age and interests) are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate gift recommendations. Suggestions may include links to third-party retailers such as Amazon. We do not send your contacts' identities for advertising, and we do not control the privacy practices of retailers you choose to visit.
Our infrastructure providers process limited technical data needed to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, device/app version, and basic log data. Toast does not include third-party advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not sell your personal information.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments and only as needed to deliver their service to us.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to meet legal obligations.
You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@toastbirthdayapp.com. We will process your request promptly.
We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections and secure on-device storage for authentication tokens, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.
Toast is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
